Gate piers, gates, walls and railings. Probably early C19. Sandstone
and limestone ashlar and wrought iron. Walls and gate piers are aligned
in a curve roughly west-south-west/east-north-east. Six gate piers have
hammered rusticated finish and deep plain cornices. The inner pair have
pyramidical cappings; the lower outer two pairs are linked by dwarf quadrant
walls and have large gadrooned limestone urns in place of pyramidical cappings.
Central two-leaved gates have scrolled tops to main bars and dog bars.
Pedestrian gates between two inner pairs of piers are of a similar design
but with curved top rails rising to higher inner piers. Railings between
outer piers have pointed bars and two main bars with finials. Attached to
the easternmost pier is a curved squared sandstone wall with a plain capping.
It is possible that the urns may be early C18 in date.
