17/91 Forge Cottage

GV II


House and forge. Mid-C18, re-erected and restored 1978. Timber-frame with
rendered infill on sandstone plinth with stone tile roof. Three framed bays
with central entrance and staircase, also rear outshot, gable-end stack and
single-bay forge. One storey with attic lit by three raked-top dormers;
ground floor: two windows: timber cross-windows, central entrance with ledged
and boarded door, to left the single-storey forge has a shuttered window,
entrance in gable end. Framing: three rectangular panels high (two high
to forge), trusses have two struts to collar. Removed from Wellington,
Hereford and Worcester, in 1976.
