8/106 Lych gate about 75 metres
south-west of Church of
St Michael

Porch, now lych gate. C14, re-erected and restored mid-C19. Timber-frame
with some rendered infill and tile roof. Two framed bays aligned north-east/
south-west. Side walls each have two windows of trefoiled lights; gable ends
have arch braces (with blind tracery decoration) to tie-beam, the truss above
has a central-strut and two raking struts to the collar; there is a single
tier of purlins with curved wind-braces: This was formerly the south porch
of the adjoining church. (VCH 3, p 529).
