Statue. Dated 1825. Coade stone on sandstone plinth. Classical style
statue of a naked man, with weapons moulded in low relief on base; this
rests on a rectangular sandstone ashlar plinth approach by two steps.
The statue is signed "Croggan Lambeth 1825". William Croggan took over
the Coade factory in 1821. This statue has been known as the Fallen
Gladiator. (CL, 6th December 1902, p 738).
