SO 97 NW BELBROUGHTON CP HARTLE

6/35 Magpie Cottage

House. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Part
timber-framed with painted brick infill and replacement walling, part
painted brick; plain tile roofs. Two framed bays aligned east/west with
large chimney at west end with stack to rear of ridge. Single storey and
attic with dormers. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, short
straight braces in some upper corners, no trusses visible. North front
elevation: two C20 ground floor 2-light casements; two gabled dormers with
2-light casements; plank and battened door to left of centre. Interior has
large fireplace. Large C20 wing under construction to rear at time of
survey (August 1985).
