6/38 Douglas Mills and Sulur


Butcher's shop and house. Mid-C18 with mid-C20 alterations. Brick, partly
half-hipped machine-tiled roof with ridge stack at right end and to left of
centre. Two storeys and attic, partly with two-course bands at storey levels
to front and rear; dentilled eaves cornice. Two plus one bays. South front elevation: windows all have moulded architraves, stone lintels and sills and
are 4-pane sashes. Two-bay part has a ground floor and two first floor windows,
a C20 shop front with hipped roof, tiled base and plate glass window and, to
right, the main entrance to the house which has an entablature and pilastered
surround and a C20 glazed door. The single-bay part has two ground floor
windows and a first floor window. Interior not inspected. The building adjoins
Belbroughton Workmen's Club (qv) at the right gable end.
