Farmhouse, now house. Early C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations.
Pebbledashed timber-frame on sandstone base, brick additions, plain tiled
roofs. Cruciform plan with main range of three framed bays aligned north/
south with central framed bay to east elevation and large porch wing to
west elevation; large chimney with brick stack to north-east, also chimney
at south end with brick stack to rear of ridge. Two storeys. No framing
visible externally. West front elevation: main part has two ground floor
3-light casements, and a first floor 2-light and 3-light casement. Central
porch wing has a 2-light first floor casement, a rectangular light in the
right side and a C20 door with a cambered head. Interior: substantial ceiling
beams. Some wall-framing visible and said to be largely intact. Roof structure
probably survives. Large fireplace in north bay and south bay. Lean-to C19
addition at south gable end. C19 wing to rear south bay. Formerly part of
the Bell Hall estate.
