GV II

House. Late C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Mainly handmade brick; some
timber-framing with brick infill at rear; sandstone base; plain tiled roofs
with parapets at gable ends. Rectangular two-bay plan aligned north-east/
south-west; large central ohimney with group of four brick ridge stacks and
forming lobby-entry plan; small staircase wing at rear. Two storeys; two-
course band between storeys. North-west front elevation: symmetrical two-
bay gabled front with 3-light C19 casements on both storeys; ground floor
windows have cambered heads; left first floor window is blocked; central
entrance has a 6-panelled door with a cambered head. Interior: main ceiling
beams are stop-chamfered. Large back-to-back fireplaces. Winder staircase
in rear wing. Originally part of the Amphlett estate.
