Pair of houses. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed
with rendered infill, refaced with roughcast brick to front, machine-tiled
roof. Four framed bays aligned east/west; large external chimneys with
offsets at both gable ends; east gable-end chimney has a detached stack;
west gable-end chimney is enclosed by an additional framed bay slightly
lower in height than the main part; the main part also has a central
chimney with a brick ridge stack, single storey and attic with dormers;
dentilled eaves cornice to front. Framing: three panels from sill to
wall-plate; short straight braces in some upper corners; collar and tie-
beam trusses with struts partly visible at gable ends. South front elevation:
three 3-light casements and two 2-light casements on ground floor, all with
cambered heads; four gabled dormers, three have 2-light casements and one is
infilled with louvred glass; two ledged and battened doors, one has a flat
canopy on shaped brackets, the other has a cambered head. Attic lights in
gable ends. Interior noted as having retained most of its framing. C19 and
C20 additions at rear. A single-storey, two-bay C19 addition to the west gable
end is not of special architectural interest.
