House. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Brick, partly
stuccoed; two-span slate roofs, partly hipped, with end stacks. Two storeys
and attic; terracotta modillion eaves cornices to rear range. Three bays;
windows have hood moulds with returns and immediately beneath each moulding
is a row of three plaster roses; windows of outer bays are 16-pane sashes;
central first floor window is a 12-pane sash; central entrance has a C19
ashlar porch, flat-roofed with moulded cornice and blocking course; C20
door with transom light and pilastered surround (pilasters have a fluted
lower section); doorway flanked by ogee-arched lights with sill and impost
bands. Attic lights in gable ends of front range. Interior: C18 front range
has stop-chamfered main ceiling beams; central hall retains its dog-leg stair-
case with moulded handrail and turned balusters. Large C19 bay window with
stained glass upper lights to left end of rear range. Also C19 hipped-roofed
two-storey addition, to rear right side with ground and first floor 16-pane
sash window to front elevation.
