House. Cl7; restored mid-C20. Timber-framed with rendered infill on
sandstone and brick base; brick replacement walling and addition; plain
tiled roof. Hall and cross-wing plan; hall part of three framed bays
aligned east/west; large chimney with two octagonal C20 ridge stacks
at west end of largest easternmost bay forming lobby-entry plan; also
C20 external chimney added at west gable end; framed single-bay cross-
wing at east gable end. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing:
three panels from sill to wall-plate and short straight braces in upper
corners; collar and tie-beam trusses; cross-wing has two raking struts
below collar and V-strut in apex. North front elevation: all ground floor
windows have plank weatherings; hall part has a 3-light and two 2-light
ground floor casements; two hipped dormers with 2-light casements; C20
gabled timber porch-and C20 door. Cross-wing gable end to left has a
ground floor 2-light casement and a tiled weathering at tie-beam and
collar level; C20 stack to left side roof. Attic light at west gable end.
Interior: moulded ceiling beams and large fireplace in hall upper bay.
C20 hipped-roofed single-storey wing at west gable end.
