House, formerly used as public house. Cl7 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations.
Timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, brick plinth and plain
tiled roofs. Four framed bays aligned east/west with central chimney and brick
ridge stack forming lobby-entrance; also external C19 chimney at west gable end.
Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: mainly four panels from sill to
wall-plate (west end bay has only three panels); short straight braces in upper
corners at west gable end; collar and tie-beam truss at west end with three
struts to collar and V-strut in apex. South front elevation: ground floor has
a 2-light C19 casement and three 3-light C20 leaded casements; all have plank
weatherings; four hipped dormers with 2-light C20 leaded casements; central
entrance has a flat moulded canopy on console brackets, a moulded architrave
and a C20 stable door. Interior not inspected. C19 and C20 additions at rear.
