Description

REDDITCH 'B DROITWICH ROAD (north side)
SP 0061 - 0161
Feckenham
9/63 Garden wall about 10 yards
south of The Manor

GV II

Garden wall. Early C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Brick with sandstone
coping. About four feet high and runs for a distance of about 40 yards in
front of The Manor (qv) sloping up at each end to terminate in C19 square
gate piers. It continues for about 30 yards west of the western gate piers
and ten yards east of the eastern gate piers, where it terminates in a small
square pier. The wall survives from the original C18 garden layout of The
Manor; it conceals the gardens from the Droitwich Road and is important to
the setting of the house and to the western approach into Feckenham village
centre. Included for group value.
