Shown on OS Map as Greenlane Farmhouse.
Farmhouse, now house. Cl7 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-
framed with painted brick and rendered infill, brick replacement walling and
refacing and plain tiled roofs. L-plan; main part of two-and-a-half bays
aligned north/south with large chimney and brick ridge stack between two
main bays; single-bay cross-wing at south end and intersecting service wing
of probably four framed bays at north end. Two storeys. Framing: four panels
from sill to wall-plate; short straight braces in some upper corners, collar
and tie-beam trusses with two struts visible at gable ends of service wing.
East entrance elevation: main part has a 2-light ground floor casement with
a cambered head, a long round-headed stairlight and a 3-light first floor
casement, lean-to porch to right has a 2-light casement and a C20 door and
continues at right angles along the south side of the service wing where it
has two large 4-light ground floor casements and a C20 door. South cross-
wing gable end has a ground and first floor 3-light casement with cambered
heads. Interior: not inspected but framing of south cross-wing is mainly
intact. South wall-frame of service wing removed. A C19 single-storey
addition adjoins the north-west end of the service wing and there is also
a large C20 extension at its east gable end. The house stands on a former
moated site, the remains of which can still be seen about 60 yards away to
the east.
