Stable and hen house. C17 with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed with brick
infill and replacement walling on sandstone base; half-hipped plain tiled roof.
Single framed bay aligned north/south. Two levels. Framing: three panels from
sill to wall-plate; truncated collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts at
gable ends. East elevation: stable door and loft opening above. Hen house:
timber-framed lean-to at south gable end. Door at centre of south elevation
with entry hole at base. Interior not inspected. Framing has been largely
replaced but the building is prominently situated west of the farmyard and
adjacent to Brickhouse Farmhouse and attached cider mill (qv) and the barn
and granary (qv). Included for group value.
