House. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Originally
timber-framed with rendered infill; walls now mainly refaced or rebuilt in
painted brick; slate roof with brick stack to rear of ridge. Two framed
bays aligned roughly east/west with central chimney forming baffle-entry
plan. Two storeys with dentilled eaves cornice. Framing: collar and tie-
beam truss with three struts and V-strut in apex visible at east gable end.
North front elevation: two ground floor 3-light casements with plank weather-
ings. Two first floor 3-light casements; C20 timber porch and door. Interior:
roof structure mainly survives and some wall-framing at first floor level.
Large fireplace in east bay. C20 addition to rear of east bay. The building
is situated either on or adjacent to the old village pound. Although remodelled
in C19, this house retains its original plan form.
