House. c1840. Finely jointed brick, shallow-pitched slate roof with end
stacks. Two storeys with dentilled eaves cornice. Two bays; windows are
all the original 3-light casements and have cambered heads. Central entrance
has flat canopy, moulded architrave and original 6-panelled door. Interior:
not inspected but said to retain its original woodwork and fittings. There
is a single-bay wing to rear left, slightly lower in height with a lean-to
addition at its gable end. Also lean-to to rear of main part. Included
as survives in virtually its original state, has good quality brickwork
and is situated in a prominent location at the head of The Square. Included
for group value.
