south of main Station

Telephone kiosk. Type K4. Introduced 1930 as a modification of K2 type. Designed
by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Made by various contractors. Cast iron, with wooden
door; square with domed roof and glazed panels of equal width. Perforated crown
to top panels. The rear of the kiosk contains a stamp machine and letter box
lit by a bracket lamp. Intact but not on original site.
