2 barns adjoining. C16 S barn with early C17 E bay and C19 extensions.
C17 W barn. Timber frames on brick sills, dark weatherboarded with steep
old red tile roofs. Tall barns enclosing W and S side of farmyard with
carriageway through S barn, lean-to extensions to E end and SE wall,
larger 3-bay C19 open ended store at SW adjoining. 4-bays S barn facing
N with massive jowled posts and wide bays with unjowled central posts
and mid-height rail tennoned in-line. Straight braces to cambered tie-
beams and wallplates. Inclined queen-posts to clasped-purlin roof and
straight wind braces. Early C17 E bay added with curved braces and wind
braces. Edge halved scarf joint with bridled butts. W barn C17, 3-bays
with projecting gabled porch to middle bay on E side. Smaller rear
doors. Jowled posts and clasped-purlin roof with straight inclined
queen-posts. (Roberts(1975)no.15).
