House. Early C17, or earlier (deed of 1625 refers), brick front C18, W
end and rear extension c.1950. Timber frame, brick cased, with steep old
red tile roof (said to have replaced thatch). A 2-storeys, 2-bays house
facing S with external E gable chimney and 2-storeys W extension, tall
NW rear extension and lower NE rear outshut. Front has 3 3-light
casement windows and gabled tiled porch to door into E bay. Interior has
exposed timber frame of 2-bays with straight braces from jowled posts to
wavy tie-beams and strutted collars to clasped-purlin roof. Wide panels
to walls. Squint-butted scarf in wallplate. Chamfered axial floor beams
with chamfered and stopped joists. (Roberts(1975)No.31).
