GV II

Barn, now used as a gatehouse. C16. Timber frame on brick sill dark
weatherboarded with steep old red tile roofs. A tall 4-bays barn along
roadside with gabled projecting porch on E side to courtyard in 2nd bay
from S. This bay now forms a covered carriageway giving access to the
yard. Jowled posts and clasped purlin roof with straight wind braces
and straight braces to tie-beams. Angled queen-post trusses without
collars. (Roberts(1975)No.41).
