12/66 Two Brewers Inn


3 houses, now an inn. C18 W part: C17 with C19 rear additions: late C17
E part. Painted stucco with steep tile roofs. Rear wing to
middle part white weatherboarded. A long range of 2 storeys facing S
with E end facing onto The Street. W part formerly the schoolmaster's
house. middle part with cellars was the Two Brewers Inn. E part a former
grocery shop. 2:5:2 windows to 1st floor, 5 small bay windows and C19
porch. Recessed sash windows with 8/8 panes. Rear wing of 2 storeys and
3 windows. The Two Brewers was famous as a training quarters for
pugilists such as Mase, Sayers and Fitzsimmons. Included for group
