GV II

House. C17 or earlier, C19 brick casing to front (W) and N end, C20 NE
rear wing, rear extensions c.1960's. Timber frame, brick casing now
painted, and steep old red tile roof. A small 1½ storeys house facing W
set back from road. W front has 3 gabled dormers at the eaves, dentilled
corbelling below eaves, stucco plinth, 4 small segmental arched windows
with 2- and 3-light flush casement windows. Panelled false door at RH in
pilastered C20 surround with entablature. COUNTY fire insurance plaque
over door. Interior has exposed framing with chamfered axial beam and
squared joists. Cross partition with pegged joints wide panels, and
flint sill wall. 4 bays with large chimney in 2nd bay from N with
back-to-back fireplaces. Axial joists and stair in N bay. Partitioned S
bay possibly parlour. Jowled posts, straight braces to tie-beams,
clasped-purlin roof with some smoke blackening, queen-struts and collar
trusses.
