GV II

House, now a Public House. Early C17 rear wing, front range rebuilt in
early C19 (said to be 1836), side extensions c.1980. Timber frame
roughcast rear wing. Red brick front range with stucco plinth and S
front of blue headers with red brick window dressings, quoins and
dentilled corbelled band at eaves. Old red tile roof to front range,
hipped at E end. Red tiled roof to rear wing. 2 storeys 3 windows S
front with added gabled central porch. 2-light flush small-paned 1st
floor casement windows. 3-light casements under segmental arches to
ground floor. External gable chimney on LH. Very large old chimney at
rear at junction with lower rear wing. Interior of taproom at E part
of front range retains original pine dado panelling, fire surround,
mantle shelf and spit rack. N half of rear wing remained open to the
roof up to c.1980.
