North Barn at Whitehouse Farm 30m to N of house

Barn. Circa 1700. Timber frame, on red brick sill (renewed), dark
weatherboarded, with steep old red tile roof. A tall 3-bays barn, facing
S; at N side of farmyard. Jowled posts, unjowled mid-bay posts and in
middle of end gables, mid-height rail jointed in-line, straight tension
braces above rail in gables, heavy straight braces to tie-beams, long
straight queen-posts inclined to support single clasped-purlin in each
slope of roof. Straight wind-braces to purlins.
