Granary at Whitehouse Farm 10m to NW of house

Granary. Circa 1700, piers renewed (?in C19). Timber frame exposed with
red brick infill under a hipped old red tile roof. Raised on short red
brick piers with oversailing caps of York stone. A small rectangular
3-bays structure facing S within the farmyard and near the house, raised
off the ground on 4 x 3 piers. Central S door and original small rear
window. Long diagonal tension braces to corner. Corner posts jowled.
Clasped purlin roof on inclined queen-post trusses. Mortices in tie beam
show E bay originally partitioned off.
