House, now 4 houses. C16 former open hall house, S house (No. 1) C18
when rest subdivided and re-windowed. Timber frame on black plastered
sill, some plastered and some painted brick infill, ground floor and S
house of painted brick, steep old red tile half-hipped roof. A 2-storeys
5 windows long block facing E, with gabled NW rear wing projecting to
rear. The 2nd and 4th upper windows are in gabled dormers breaking
through the eaves. Small-pane 2-light flush Yorkshire sliding casements.
3 plank doors and one 4-panel door (No. 2). Gabled trellis porch to No.
2 lean-to enclosed timber and tile porch to No. 4. Large internal
chimney in lower bay of former 2-bays hall and front framing for upper
part of large window in upper bay. Internal chimney inserted in S end of
lower bay of original house, 2 external chimneys on N end. Rear has 4
gabled dormers at eaves, stair window beside hall stack, and framing for
small 1st floor window in original 2 end bay. Eaves of NW wing higher
than main range. Rear has flush 2-light casement windows, and plank
