House. Early C17, altered to 2 cottages in C19, C20 additions to rear
and sides. Timber frame older part, red brick newer parts, all plastered
externally. C20 N part weatherboarded. Steep pitched roofs now slated.
An irregular 1 1/2-storeys house oriented N-S with 2-cells, internal-
chimney, formerly lobby-entry house, and short gabled former kitchen
wing projecting to E from S part of house. 2-storeys gabled later
additions to SW and N, and lean-to entrance and stair extension E.
Picturesque exterior with many gables, gabled dormers, large external
chimneys, and casement windows. Round-headed oak entrance door. Interior
has exposed timbers of wall-frame, clasped-purlin roof with straight
wind-braces, squint-butted scarf joint in wallplate, axial chamfered
floor beams with bar-stop in main room N of chimney-stack, and scroll.
