House and outbuildings attached on N and S, now 2 houses. C17. Timber
frame on black painted brick sill, roughcast front and N end to chimney,
painted brick infill beyond chimney, painted brick casing to ground
floor. Outbuilding part timber frame dark weatherboarded, part painted
brick next house at S. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2 1/2-storeys house
facing E with integral rear outshut under catslide extension of roof. A
2-cells, end chimneys plan house presumably with original central
entrance. 2 windows to each floor, flush 3-light casements with small
panes. 2 gables have similar windows to top storey. 2 wide-spaced plank
doors in middle with gabled wooden porches linked by a pentice roof
between. Porch infilled by early C19 large cast iron Gothick windows and
2 similar windows in single-storey brick lean-to at N end. External
gable N chimney later than large external S gable chimney with corbelled
tops to 3 combined square shafts. Side-purlin roofs. Jowled posts with
straight braces and tie-beam. Small dark weatherboarded and slated barn
attached at rear NW, facing N. Larger S outbuilding formerly detached
has cross-wing with double doors in gable and lower wing set back on its
S side.
