Wellhouse, now a store. Circa 1882 as improvements on Lord Brownlow's
Ashridge Estate (date plaque on new porch to farmhouse). Red brick with
old red tile roofs. A small rectangular single-storey building lying N-S
with an octagonal donkey-wheel house attached near N end of W wall with
3 sides open on piers on S side. Octagonal pointed roof to wheelhouse
and wrought iron vane. 2 doorways on E side of building facing house:
one from wheelhouse on W. A new deep well was sunk to serve the farm but
a mains water system is said to have been installed by the estate before
the well-head machinery was installed. Included for group value.
