House, now 2 houses. N wing C17, N-S wing C18/C19 rebuilding or casing
of older hall range, taller parlour block at S mid C17, C19 lower
extension at W end of N wing. Timber frame with yellow brick as infill
panels and as casing to ground floor. Thin red brick infill to frame of
parlour wing. Steep old red tile roofs. An irregular, L-shaped,
1 1/2-storeys house facing E with 2-storeys and attic parlour wing at S end
and 2-bays N wing running W along roadside, with single-storey short
extension beyond a gable chimney. 2 gabled dormers to N wing and 4-light
transomed C18 casement, lattice leaded with stepped head in N gable of
hall range. E side has a side-gable and small gabled porch at N end.
Lean-to open timber porch to door and small Cl9 window beside inglenook
at junction with parlour wing. Single wide-bay to parlour wing with
axial chamfered beams and ogee plus nick stops. Collar and clasped-
purlin roof, with straight wind-braces, and straight braces in
walls. Round-arched fireplace and winding stair beside it. 2-light
lattice leaded casements.
