Farmhouse. Plaster plaque over N entrance 'B/BM/1695'; lower W extension
early C18. Banded English-bond brickwork with red stretchers and blue
headers, deep coved plaster eaves cornice to steep old red tile roof. A
tall 2-storeys cellar and attic house, 5 windows long, with N and S
fronts apparently of equal importance, and lower 2-storeys W extension
and brick outhouse linked to SW corner. S front to road has plat band, a
hipped dormer on the roofslope of W part, 5 sash windows on 1st floor
with 8/8 panes, 2 3-lights casement windows on ground floor, and central
4-panels door up 3 steps with rectangular fanlight. N front to yard has
plaster date plaque in recess over central door, plat band steps up over
doorhead, and symmetrical design of 2 windows to each side on 1st and
ground floors and to cellar. 2nd window from E blocked on each floor and
2nd window from W blocked on ground floor. Segmental arch to door. One
window W extension has plat band, corbelled eaves band, 2-light casement
window to 1st floor and rectangular bay to ground floor. Interior has
chamfered axial beams, squared joists, internal gable chimneys at each
end with larger open fireplace at W.
