TL 21 NW AYOT ST PETER Hornbeam House (north)
and Saul's Wood Cottage
Former village school and schoolmistress's house, now 2
dwellings. About 1874, probably by J P Seddon. In same style as
church. Red brick, vitreous brick banding, white brick and stone
dressings. Steep slate roof with pointed crestings. 2 storeys.
2 gable ends to road, S one with attic cusped roundel and 4
trefoil-headed ground floor lancets. Square pane casement
windows, some with metal frames. Gabled porches on N and S
elevations. Included for group value.
