TL 20 NE SSENDON Bedwell Lodge

House. Early-mid C17. Early C19 re-fronting. Altered late C19
and C20. 2 storeys and attics. Front has C17 red brick ground
floor with weatherboarded 1st floor. 2 plastered gable ends with
angled brick courses. 3 recessed sash windows. Half-glazed
door. Garden elevation has 2 8/8-pane sash windows in early-C19
weatherboarded upper floor. Canted ground floor window bays and
bracketed porch. Slate roof. Large early-mid C17 staircase at
rear centre rising to attic. Plain round balusters. Rustication
to newels. 1st floor landing has wooden door arch of same date
with chamfered spandrels and finial key block. Ground floor
right hand rooms with ovolo-moulded beams, the rear wall with C17
4-light mullioned window, now enclosed in outshut.
