Hospital, formerly country house. Circa 1775 origin, rebuilt
externally late 1820's and internally 1920's. Large, square
plan, 3-storeyed block with full height bow windows on ends of
elevations. Chanelled stucco, parapet, slate roof. S elevation
has 3-window bows either end and extruded corners with plain
pilasters. 2-window centre with tetrastyle wooden Tuscan loggia.
Sash windows with architrave surrounds. Moulded floor bands and
cornice. E and W elevations each have 1 bow window on S side and
4 windows on N. Queen Anne style interior with large barleytwist
baluster staircase. (RCHM Typescript)
