Three houses. c.1600 house extended, 'Sc 1822' on front wall of No. 7.
No. 5 has timber frame with brick nogging, extended in flint and red
brick. Tiled roofs. Originally 2 bays with three 2 window cottages added
to left. All 2 storeys. To right timber frame exposed on first floor.
Large scantling to large panels. C20 casements. Steeply pitched roof. To
left each cottage has a central entrance, each with a C20 porch
addition, 2 light casements, leaded. Gauged brick and flint flat arched
heads on ground floor. Flint panels with horizontal and vertical brick
courses. Dentilled brick eaves. Datestone on first floor to left. Cross
axial stack between Nos. 5 and 6, left end stack. To rear of timber
framed core is an exposed jowled post and a flat roofed addition.
Interior: ground floor stop chamfered binding beams and joists, original
shutter groove, small window opening on rear wall, stop chamfered timber
lintel to fireplace at right end. Curved braces in walls, mortices for
braces to cambered tie beams, queen struts to collars clasping purlins,
