House. Mid to late C17, extended late C18 and early C20. Timber frame to
core, cased and extended in red brick. Some tilehanging. Tiled roofs.
Original 2 bays to right with C18 2 bay addition to left and 1 bay
addition to front. C20 addition to rear left. 2 storeys throughout.
Entrance in C20 gabled porch at right end of C18 block. Ground floor has
two 3-light and a single light casement, leaded panes, cambered heads.
First floor two 3 light casements, oversailing eaves. C17 block to right
has a lower ridge. 1 storey C18 gabled projection to front with extruded
gable end stack. C20 1, 2 and 4 light casements. To right on C17 range a
9 pane sash and a 2 light gabled dormer. Right return: C18 external
stack with offsets, an entrance and a 2 light casement in roughcast
attic. Left return: C18 external stack with offsets, rebuilt cap. Early
C20 wing to rear left is taller with tilehung gable to front. Interior:
ground floor stop chamfered and chamfered binding beams, exposed
studding, clasped purlin roof, wind braces. Formerly Black Horse Public
