Lime Tree Farm
- (30m to ESE of house)
2 barns now joined in one. C16 or early C17 E part, C18 W part.
Timber frames on low brick sills, dark weatherboarded. Steep
pitched roofs. E part has old red tiled porch but corrugated
iron elsewhere. W part of red pantiles with corrugated iron next
the verge of the W gable. Older E part is a tall 3-bay barn
facing N with a projecting gabled N porch in the middle bay.
Jowled posts with mid-height rails tennoned in-line, inclined
queen-post, clasped-purlin roof without collars. Curved braces
to tie-beams. Flat-laid rafters. More recent W part is a tall 3
bay barn facing N with a small door in the E bay and a high
pitching door in the middle bay. Unjowled posts with mid-height
rail tennoned in-line and straight braces to tie-beams.
Inclined queen-post, clasped-purlin roof without collars.
