Farm Cottage

GV II

House, now 2 houses. C17, altered in C18. Timber frame
roughcast with weatherboarded apron. Red brick C18 replacement
of length of front wall on ground floor to incorporate a
projecting oven. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2 storeys, 3-cell
plan house facing W, with l-bay one and a half storeys N
extension. Tall red brick central chimney with added flue on
front. N part (Alimin) has a 2-light wooden casement window to
each floor, panelled door and similar window to N extension. Sun
firemark (no 103631) above door. Interior has unjowled posts,
exposed frame, chamfered axial beam with ogee stop at N end only,
and side-purlin roofs to house and N extension. S part (Manor
Farm Cottage) has painted brickwork on ground floor with 2 lower
windows and lean-to roughcast and tile enclosed porch. Formerly
used as shop with barn in S part.
