House. Later Cl7, renovated in C19. Timber frame on stucco
plinth, roughcast with a steep thatched roof. A 2-storeys, 4-
cell, central chimney plan house, facing W, with a single-storey
thatched outhouse at N end covering a capped-over well. Entrance
into northern heated room, with stair by chimney and service room
at N end up one step. Narrow unheated service room at S end. N
room lit only from rear with back door. 3 front windows to 1st
floor and 2 to ground floor (middle rooms) with boarded door
beside N window. 3-light flush casement windows. Regular narrow
studs, rafters and some joists exposed inside. Clasped-purlin
roof. Unjowled posts. Straight tension braces, and face-halved
bladed scarf joints in wallplate. Plank doors with iron hinges.
Wide floorboards.
