House. Mid Cl7. Red brick in irregular bond with steep old red
tile hipped roof. A unusual, large, symmetrical, 2-storeys
square house, with 3 windows on each face, and a large central
chimney. Faces E. Projecting plinth, ovolo-moulded band at 1st
floor, and moulded brick cornice. Heavy framed 3-light nearly
flush casement windows with horizontal proportions and chamfered
brick jambs. Window to left of door and 2 on S ground floor cut
down for sash windows with 6/6 panes. 6-panel front door
(renewed) in heavy frame with plastered surround to doorway and
oval window over. Large chimney with diagonal square shaft in
middle of 4 octagonal tall shafts. Blocked windows and
buttresses on N side. Interior has beams and crossbeams, and
wide fireplaces. 4 panelled doors on ground floor and 4 boarded
doors with iron strap hinges on 1st floor.
