GV II

4 terraced houses, now 3. Early C19 (on 1839 Tithe Map). Timber
frame on tarred brick sill. Nos 38 and 40 dark weatherboarding
to ground floor with roll-worked on edge of each board. Upper
part roughcast at front. No 42 panelled pargetting with raised
roundels at floor level. Slate roof and 2 central red brick
chimneys. Single-fronted, handed, double-pile plan houses with
one front window to each floor of each house. Flush box sash
windows with 8/8 small panes and moulded surround. Ground floor
window of No 38 replaced by 2-light casement. Doors to 38 and 40
with broad frames and drip-boards on shaped brackets. Little
altered pair in a terrace of 4 houses. No 42 has no door on
front and represents the northern pair.
