GV II

House. Cl7 or earlier, NE wing early C18. Timber frame on
stucco sill, roughcast with steep old red tile roofs. A one and
a half storeys, 3-cell, central-chimney plan house with entrance
now in E gable end to road. One and a half storeys NE extension
with N gable chimney projecting a little. Large central chimney,
with oven off middle room, a third from E end. Tall conjoined
square shafts above roof. C20 small external chimney on S wall.
E front has gable on left with 2-light top hung leaded casement
above continuous dripboard at level of eaves. Lean-to timber
open porch to oak plank door (renewed). Gabled dormer on the
eaves to right with similar 2 light flush casement window below.
Gabled dormer to room over middle room, on S side, with 3 small
windows to ground floor. Tiled lean-to set back at W end. 3-bay
struture with side purl in roof. Similar roof to NE extension. A
most picturesque village house.
