GV II

House. Circa 1700, C19 lean-to extension at SW. Red brick with
vitrified headers in chequer patten on front and in chevron
pattern on gables. Original timber frame roughcast rear NW wing
with C19 lattice half timbering applied. Steep pitched old red
tile roofs with rear catslide, gable parapets and moulded wood
cornice to front eaves. A 2-storeys and attics, L-shaped house
facing E. Central entrance, 2-cell, end chimneys plan. Larger
external gable chimney at N with tumbled brick offsets. Internal
gable chimneys at S and at W gable of rear wing. Otherwise
symmetrical E front has openings offset to N to allow room for
internal chimney at S. 2 flat-topped dormers in roof slope.
Platband and projecting plinth. Segmental gauged arches to lower
windows. 2 flush-box sash windows to each floor with small panes
and margin lights. 4 steps to door, half-glazed in moulded
frame. Moulded brackets carry an entablature and swans neck
pediment. Painted quoins round openings and angles. Interior
has 2-panel doors with H hinges.
