TL 32NE ASPENDEN THE STREET

House. Early C18, extended at ends and divided as 2 houses in
early C19. Timber frame on stucco plinth, roughcast with
basketwork and fan pargetting and black weatherboarded apron.
Steep thatched roof. A one and a half storeys, 2-cell, central
chimney plan house facing S, later extended symmetrically by one
bay at each end with an external gable chimney. Back-to-back dog
leg stairs behind central chimney and brick oven (blocked) out of
N jamb of E fireplace of central stack. Floor levels higher on
ground and 1st floor of end extensions. 2 battened doors
together in middle flanked by 2 2-light small-paned, cast-iron,
Yorkshire sliding casement windows all linked by a drip board on
shaped brackets. 2 dormer windows at eaves grouped in middle.
Axial chamfered beams and open fireplaces to old middle part of
house. Good early C19 cast-iron basket grates to E end fireplace.
