House, now a shop. C16, altered in C17. Timber frame on low
stucco plinth, roughcast with a steep old red tile roof. A 3-
bay, 2-storeys, small building facing W with C18 or later
external gable chimney at N. Lower extension to S across former
carriageway. Street front has 3 small, 2-light, flush casement
windows to upper floor. 2 small C19 shop windows flank central
door with flat hood on shaped brackets. 2-light casement to
right. Exposed timbers inside include the close-studded front
wall at 1st floor, straight braces to cambered tie-beams of
concealed side-purlin roof, jowled posts, heavy bracket to cross-
beam on Ground floor, chamfered axial floor beam to middle bay,
and edge-halved scarf joint in front wallplate with bridled
butts.
