Rectory, now a house. 'AD 1889' on brick panel on W front. By
Fred Chancellor for E S Bowlby of Gilston Park (spec and drawings
at house). Red brick, 2 storeys and attics irregular Arts and
Crafts house with steep red tiled pyramid roof. Wooden porch on
W with strapwork and grotesque mask in plastered triangular
gable, and small side railings over low brick walls. Half-glazed
panelled doors with sidelights and fanlights. 3-sided bay to
right with 12/1:18/2:12/1 panes. Segmental arches in red
rubbers. Parapet to bay. 2 gabled dormers. Asymmetrical
picturesque S front with 2 storeys canted bay on right, door,
oval window and tall stair window in centre and a pair of windows
to left, all topped by a projecting tile-hung gable on large
moulded brackets. Single storey service buildings running off to
right. N front has 3 windows and large projecting chimney. 4-
light ogee topped dormer window. A splendid Arts and Crafts
Rectory, little-altered. Sold in c1978 when benefices merged.
