House. '1854' and 'IH' on quatrefoil datestones. For John
Hodgson Esq of Gilston Park. Substantial, 2 storeys, red brick
and slate Gothic farmhouse of the pattern built for middle-sized
farms on the Gilston Park Estate and similar to Eastwick Hall and
the former farmhouse now The Lion Inn, both in Eastwick parish.
Facing W with a double-pile range on the left, projecting gabled
cross wing on the right, and a lean-to roofed wooden porch in the
angle. 3 windows, with 3-light casements under gauged arches.
Heavy moulded bargeboards with central pendants. An impressive
mid C19 dated Gothic estate farmhouse, little-altered. Part of a
group in the landscape with Channocks Cottage, Stable Cottage and
the contemporary farm buildings.
