Block of 2 houses. Mid C19 probably built as 2 similar houses, E.
quarter now No 19. Timberframed plastered house of 2 storeys and
4 windows, under a hipped slate roof with 2 symmetrical central
red brick chimneys. Central gabled enclosed porch with panelled
door and Tuscan pilasters with simple pediment. Flush sash
windows with 2/2 panes. Larger 4-light window to Ground floor on
W end of front, possibly set in a blocked doorway to the former
carpenter's shop. W end was a Post Office with modern panelled
door in C19 moulded doorcase next to the .W corner. Unusual 8-
paned sliding windows to 1st floor at rear. A picturesque
plastered C19 village house important to the streetscene and part
of the varied group of plastered houses in the middle of the
village Conservation Area. Included for group value.
