House. C16 or earlier, chimney and floor in hall inserted c.1600. Timber
frame on black stuccoed sill, white weatherboarded with a steep hipped
thatch roof. A 1½ storeys, 3-cells, former open hall house facing W with
large internal chimney a third from N end. 3 windows on W and battened
door up 4 steps with small flat hood on brackets. 3-light flush
casements flanking door and flush sash window with 6/6 panes to N end
room. Dormer at eaves to centre and over N end with 3-light casement
below. 3 bays old structure with former open hall in middle. W wall has
carpenters marks on timbers. 3-light diamond mullioned window on 1st
floor with scarf joint over. Shutter groove on opposite wallplate,
tie-beam ends remain cut back on each side of hall. (Bailey (1980)24).
